By Shashwat Pant

Inam Sapkota

Kathmandu, October 9

The Supreme Court has upheld the arrest of Inam Sapkota as lawful, dismissing a habeas corpus petition filed by his wife, Kabita Pandey, challenging his detention.

A bench of Justices Hari Phuyal and Sunil Pokharel dismissed the petition, ruling against the plea that Sapkota had been unlawfully arrested.

Police had arrested Sapkota on allegations of leaking important and sensitive state information. However, police have been seeking extensions of his detention on a charge of indecent behaviour.
