Der beste Freund des Menschen bekommt allerdings auch dort Konkurrenz: Kurz vor dem Welttag des Hundes am Samstag zeigen nun neue Zahlen, dass sich Katzen heranpirschen. Erstmals seit Beginn der Datenerhebungen leben in US-Haushalten mehr Katzenjunge als Welpen. Laut „Washington Post“ ist das nicht einfach nur ein Modetrend, sondern auch Spiegel der wirtschaftlichen Situation.
