Opposition Leader in Bulgaria Says Ship May Have Carried Troops
GERB leader Boyko Borissov, from the opposition, said security service reports at the Consultative Council for National Security (CCNS) indicated that the sunken Black Sea vessel may have been transporting people or troops.
Borissov made the comments during a working meeting with party officials in Petrich, a day after the closed-door CCNS meeting convened by President Iliana Yotova following the sinking of two merchant vessels in Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone on October 6.
“The intelligence reports state that they were transporting people or troops,” Borissov said.
