Carlyle Withdraws From $22 Billion Lukoil Asset Sale
US investment firm Carlyle Group has withdrawn from the competition to buy Russian oil giant Lukoil’s international assets, including the refinery in Burgas, Bloomberg reported.
The company confirmed that it was no longer actively pursuing the acquisition but offered no further explanation.
In its annual report, Lukoil said the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) had not authorized the proposed deal submitted in January, resulting in the offer expiring at the end of July....
